Vorwerk is based in Wuppertal, Germany and is a privately owned family business. The German Thermomix factory is located in Cloyes in France. Their motto is ‘The best for your family’ and they have been manufacturing and promoting products to enhance family life, via in-home demonstrations, for more than 70 years. Being the world’s smallest and smartest kitchen, Thermomix is Vorwerk’s star appliance. |
|
It is designed for at-home use, but has become a favourite chef tool. The advantage for restaurant owners is that it can “make-to-order” food that usually takes one dedicated person in the kitchen to prepare. One specific example is Zabaglione. It takes 8 minutes from start to finish in the machine without anyone attending to it other then to put in the ingredients and set the time, temperature, and speed. One Thermomix machine can be used for a variety of processes, or dedicated to one specific purpose. Either way, it can be paid for in fairly short order by the time and grocery purchase money saved. | |
Functions: weighs, mills wheat to whipping egg whites, steams, fries, boils, bakes, juices, sautés, purees and so much more. The only way this machine is sold is through direct sales, and one must have a personal experience through a demonstration which is better than listing “can do’s” (three important settings: – time, temperature and speed – and it also measures weight up to 6 kilos).Without seeing it in action, it is very difficult to conceptualize. It is just that revolutionary. | ![]() ![]() |

Hello,
I came across your site and we are hoping to buy a Thermomix for use in the USA. Problem is the current. Do you know if people have bought the Canadian model ( is it different from European or Australian?) for use in the States. Thank you in advance for any help you can offer!
Debra Orr
HI, Debra,
I have sent you an email – please confirm receipt of it – and check your spam!

I have the same question. Do the Canadian models have plugs that can be used in the US? Also, is it possible to buy it in the US? I can’t find it anywhere. Thank you.
I have sent you an email, Jennifer. Please check your spam! 🙂

Hello,
I’m living in Quebec canada but my parents live in the Netherlands.
I would like to buy the thermomix tm5 in the Netherlands but does it work in Quebec with a power converter in regards with the different voltage and watt?
Have a good day!
Hi Tommie
I have sent you an email. Please do check your spam.

I would like to know about this too. As I’m planning on buying mine in Portugal and bringing it to the USA.
So what is it that you would like to know, Ana?
🙂

Hi All,
I took my TM5 to the US from Italy since it was a wedding present. I bought a 3000W capacity tension converter for 220V->110V in order to use the TM5 in the US. Do you think it will be ok in your experience?
Thank you in advance!
~Giorgio
Hi Giorgio

Hi I will also be bringing my Europe TM5 to Canada. May I know will the Transformer/converter 3000v be sufficient to handle my TM5. Appreciate yr kind advice ASAP. Tk u!
Speak with an electrician! It will diminish the life of your Thermomix. Better to sell it there and buy one here.
However, we do have 220 plugins her bu about 500 for an electrician to put it in.
I can’t advise about the other.
🙂
Valerie
hello guys,
as the other ones I like to know the same about the voltage problems to convert an german TM5 to the US. what possibilities are there? ….and yes, I will check my email- spam.
thank you very much
Edith
Great Edith,
I have sent you an email.

Valerie
It works with a transformer for the tension. Just make sure it support up to 3000 W.
I would also like to know how to make the machine work in the USA.
Hi Ana,
If you buy a machine that is not 120v, you can get a transformer, but it will shorten the life of your machine. The best solution is to buy a machine from Mexico or Canada as both countries have the exact same electrical supply that the US does and both will work seamlessly in the US. This makes much more sense than buying a machine from Portugal. Hope this helps.
Sincerely,
Valerie
can I use your thermonix. tm31 in the USA? what is the price shipped?
HI Philippe
I only sell TM5’s in Canada.

Hello! We’ve brought a thermomix TM31 from Europe and we are really looking forward to start using it here in Canada, do you know what converter/transformer we have to buy?
Best
We don’t recommend any, Daniel. All converters shorten the lifespan of your machine.
🙂
Valerie
Hi, I was wondering if the Canadian version (110 volts) has any functional differences from the European version (220v). Thank you!
Sent you an email, Chris.
